Richard Morgan has been a barrister since 1984, after serving as an Associate to the Hon. Justice Macrossan AC of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology, a Master of Laws from the University of London and a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration awarded by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and undertaken at Jesus College, Oxford.
Richard has particular interests in negligence claims, maritime law, insurance and international arbitration. He also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution as counsel and mediator, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), a Fellow and Panel Arbitrator of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and a Panel Arbitrator of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (Kuala Lumpur) and the Pacific International Arbitration Centre (Vietnam).
He publishes, gives presentations and teaches in the field of international arbitration, while also maintaining a busy practice particularly in the fields of negligence and insurance.
